Crimson Obsidian is used to make a portal to get to the Crimson dimension. You actually craft this block using normal obsidian, a Pyre Crystal, an Erython Cube and red dye. Be careful where you place it, as like normal obsidian, it take a bit of time to mine. The only place this block naturally generates is in the biomes of the crimson dimension.

It uses the obsidian texture but tinted a redish-purple color.

Obtaining

You actually craft this block instead of finding it in the overworld.
