The beehive was added to add more to the hive biome. It is only found in the hive biome, and can only be placed on honeycomb and beeswax. When broken, a bee will be dropped. You can't actually get the beehive in survival, as it doesn't drop itself.

This is a custom modeled block, a small one, and actually resembles more of a paper wasp nest, rather than a wild beehive. It also generates on the ground, not on the underside of a tree or something. There is a shadow underneath it, but MCE decided to leave it in and it gives a little more depth to the hive biome.

Obtaining

Can't obtain it, as it doesn't drop itself. Generates in the hive biome like a flower.

Usage

Not much as it doesn't drop itself, but once broken, it will drop bees.

Bugs

Bug; 1.5: Tile Entity mapping issue. Spammed the server console.
