The Autil Block was added to make the autil field biome. Upon mining it, which takes a bit of time, it will drop 1-2 autil items. When any entity is on top of the block, they sink down 1/2 way, as if it were a slab. It also cuts your movement speed by half, similar to what soul sand does.
